The Plass Lab, at the Center of Regenerative Medicine in Barcelona (CMR[B]), is seeking a senior research associate / lab manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day to day management of the lab as well, perform experiments, contribute to the supervision and training of students, and develop together with the head of the group new scientific questions in the context of the research interests of the lab.

The aim of the Plass lab is to investigate the function of post-transcriptional regulation in gene regulation and cell differentiation, and in particular its contribution to the development of neurodevelopment and neurodegenerative diseases. For this purpose, we take advantage of the newly developed single-cell transcriptomics methods and use them in combination with molecular biology experiments, other types of high-throughput sequencing technologies and computational analyses.

We are looking for a candidate with a PhD in molecular biology or related area, with at least 2 years of post-doctoral experience. She/he should have experience maintaining and differentiating hiPSC cells and high-throughput sequencing methods. Prior experience in the biology of post-transcriptional regulatory mechanisms, neurobiology and single-cell transcriptomics will be a plus. Additionally, the candidates must have good communication and English language skills, project planning, analytical and critical thinking, ethics and integrity, leadership, information seeking and management skills.
