Research Data Management is an activity that can transform a project into a great executed project, but it needs different skills beyond the specific scientific discipline, like IT or administration.
Registration has open to attend the course "Research Data Management for Advanced Users" that will take place in person in the UPC premises in Barcelona, Spain, on the 27th and 28th of November, 2024.
The main goal of this course is to give advanced notions and practical examples and exercises about the Data Management activities for researchers and research support staff, with special attention to the management of sensitive data.
Upon completing this course, participants will be able to choose the best storage and repositories for their projects; recognise if professional support is necessary to apply the right security measures and be compliant with the current legislation; apply FAIR principles not only to data but also to software; choose the suitable license with the help of specialised staff.
This course is jointly organised by the Data Management unit, Network and Security group, Data Protection Officer and Life Sciences Department of the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC), with the collaboration of the Spanish Supercomputing Network (RES) and the Spanish National Bioinformatics Institute (INB/ELIXIR-ES).
The course is free of charge with mandatory registration. You can find all the information, including the agenda and registration form, in the website: https://www.bsc.es/education/training/bsc-training/bsc-training-research-data-management-advanced-users
