Contract for two years as a researcher to work in the Group of Bioinformatics and Functional Genomics (Lab19, directed by Dr. Javier de las Rivas, Cancer Research Institute of Salamanca CIC-IBMCC, USAL/CSIC) within the "EU PROJECT 737390-ARRESTAD"- H2020. REF: 19-4-JRTS
1.– Required Education Level
The Education Level required is: Master degree (MSc) in Biology, Biotechnology, Genomics, Pharmacy or similar. BSc/Degree with (demonstrable) experience of work in Bioinformatics or Computational Biology. It could be also a Master engineering (MEng) in Computer Science (in this case the candidate should have special interest to work in biomedical studies and in bioinformatics).
The candidate should have in his/her degree a minimal qualification of 7/10 (70% or more average mark in the degree). The candidate should also have some validated experience in the field of Bioinformatics and Computational Biology. Experience and knowledge in programming and computing languages will be valued, in particular we require some experience in the use of R programming language, knowledge about Bioconductor and shell-scripting in UNIX, Python, SQL (endorsed)
3.– Specific Requirements
The work will be focused on: Analysis of ultra-sequencing genomic data (NGS) of human and patient samples. Development and application of software and computational tools for bioinformatic analysis of genomic and proteomic data and identification of disease biomarkers, gene regulatory networks and master regulators. All the studies will be associated with neurodegenerative diseases (mainly Alzheimer's, AD) and also cancer (CC).
4.– Required Languages
English level required is: B2 or better
5.– Required Research Experience
The candidate should have some experience of working in a research lab (at least 6 months during the time of his/her degree)
