Are you ready to be a part of a dynamic team that ensures the long-term success of our Data Science Academy (DSA), as the Associate Director, you will work closely with the Data Science Learning Director to deliver an impactful and innovative educational program in data science and related areas, focusing on the R&D community. This is an opportunity to play a key role in supporting adoption of cutting-edge data science methods across R&D, pushing the boundaries of science and making a difference to patients.
Accountabilities
In this role, you will work with the Data Science Learning Director to develop, deliver, and maintain DSA’s portfolio. You will also be responsible for analysing feedback gathered from learners and supporting strategic decision making about the learning portfolio and its growth. Your responsibilities will include developing e-learning solutions and course curricula in close collaboration with R&D SMEs and commercial vendors, reviewing existing portfolio contents at regular intervals, and working closely with R&D SMEs, and vendors, to make updates as necessary. You will also support instructors involved in delivering DSA courses to ensure maximum impact and high-quality trainings.
Essential Skills/Experience:
- BSc or MSc in Life Science, Data Science, or equivalent experience
- 2-3 years' experience with teaching and curriculum development for technical topics (e.g., bioinformatics, data science), in a commercial or academic setting
- Demonstrated end-to-end project management experience
- Familiarity with data science concepts and applications (e.g., machine learning, data analytics)
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills
- Ability to work independently and think outside the box
- Ability to work well on small or large teams, with demonstrated collaboration skills
- It's necessary to have fluent English for everyday use
Desirable Skills/Experience:
- Experience in a similar role within the Biopharmaceuticals R&D sector would be advantageous.
