Institution
Universidad Complutense Madrid

The Biophysics and Systems Biology group is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic graduate student to do the PhD in our team at Universidad Complutense Madrid. The candidate will work in a project aimed at studying clonal competition and mutagenesis at the onset of bladder cancer, a project that benefits from complementary in vivo cell tracking, transcriptomics and state-of-the-art sequencing tech in close collaborationship with the Wellcome Sanger Institute (UK) and CNIO. This is an excellent opportunity for those searching a PhD in an integrative experimental-computational work enviornment.

This position is funded through an Investigo program contract for one year at first instance, time during which the candidate will be expected to apply for fellowships to cover the salary for the rest of the duration of the PhD. Therefore, only candidates with a competitive CV will be considered. Individuals with a background or high interest in bioinformatics are especially encouraged to apply, whether they come from areas related to biology or physics/engineering - experimentalists with hybrid interest in quantitative cell biology and data analysis are also welcome.

Applicants should send a motivation letter and a copy of the CV (indicating the overall academic mark) at the earliest convenience by email to gpiedraf@ucm.es.
