On November 22nd, the news "Researchers sound alarm on European data law" was published in Science. The article in depth presents the impact of the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) on the data management in international biomedical research, and gathers some opinions on how researchers are dealing with to comply with GDPR. Salvador Capella-Gutierrez, leader of the INB coordination team at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC), was interviewed among others by the author Tania Rabesandratana to prepare this article.
